Saint Jean

Just a pic of St jean because it's the best part of the town, i went there yesterday with Jean, Mike and Guillaume after we went to see Hauru's moving castle. So bad there was police in each bar, the Smoking Dog was close and it's the best Irish pub ever. So we just bought something to eat and went to sit somewhere, was nice to see Jean before he leaves again for Paris. I wish i could see him more, he's so great ! and his drawings are amazing >_< damn talented you !!! :p

Now Playing: Stairway to heaven (led zeppelin)
I think it is good that there is a lot of things organized in commemoration of the end of concentration camps and extermination camps.
Not much things to say in this entry, except that i really want to go there but i'm so afraid it might end up like when we went with school to watch this movie about it and where half of the class cried in the cinema. But that was really terrible !
Our teacher said, it seems to be much something of our generation to cry about it. She meant, other years she saw a lot of shocked students, but no one cried. Well, i don't know why. That seems just a normal reaction for me, you can't stop it.May be it's because she was history teacher that she said this?
Is it something you can get used to while hearing a lot about it? i mean, it's about 8 000 000 people ! thats not even someting i can imagin.
8 000 000 is like if they killed... all Sweden. So unbelievable.

Evangeliste.
i KNOW.

I know that Evangeliste is not the kind of name you give to someone but that was my character name and i thought it suits him very well.
I made it after my work in spain, when i was in Toulouse, because i couldn't draw during vacation and i thought i did loose a lot of my ability. So i've been drawing and drawing and drawing and drawing( i know it makes a lot of "drawing" but i mean, i did really draw!^^)

He's not so good but i like him. I like his face and his left shoulder. But his clothes seems not soft enought, thats better on the copy i made where i did use my special junku-stuffs. ^^ need to scann it someday. feel like this damn shop steals my money but it's so great !!!! especially for the books. I can't find Abe Kobo anywhere else, thats why i'm so looking forward to go to paris again.

Un garcon assis sur la tombe d'un chat a la croisee d'un chemin
Mood:  a-ok

Err... no comment about this one. He hasn't even got a name yet because i didn't start to write about him even if he's supposed to be a character.^^
I just know it'll include a dead cat and it's grave.

" Best sheme o'mice an'men gang aft a-gley" (Robert Burns)

I had to confess something terrible : i do disagree with all student who read "Of mice and men" in school and hate this book. I have some ... fascination for this book, the word can look too strong but it's not. I really, really, really do love this book.

George is small and clever, Lennie is tall and dumb and it's just their story and the one of Candy, Slim, Carlson, Curley, Crooks, etc ... all characters who cross their road. They don't do anything special. They act and they talk, sometimes they dream, nothing else. We never know what they think but they are here, living as any other character, even more.
The strength of Steibeck is here : even if we are not allowed to see what motivate his character's acts, we understand everything. What is the link between men, why they do act, how they feel, why George kills Lennie.
His characters seem so alive !

Thats why i understand why college students hate this book : may be they are not mature enough for understand this, this manner of writing, thats why all they are able to say about this book is : Lennie is crazy, the end is cruel.

I really want to ask you to read it again and you'll all see there's nothing cruel in his death. It's even the contrary. I guess everyone could dream of someone loving him as George do love Lennie.

May be I'm 100% wrong but it's my own short analysis?
May be i'm silly too but i read this book something like 19 times (no kidding) and i'm still crying like a child.
